Commercially available hydroponic grow devices are rip-offs.  It’s as simple as that.  Often times these devices are nothing more than modified storage bins that you can pick up from your local retailer for under $10.  Sure the manufacturers of commercial hydroponic grow devices slap on some airline tubes, or fill the tubs with clay balls and give their device a catchy name; however at the end of the day these devices are nothing more than hastily thrown together mash ups of commonly available items that are then overpriced beyond belief.
